Sens FUN-draiser

Updated: Dec 22, 2022

Nice job, Sacred! By the deadline of Friday, October 14th, we sold over 1000 Sens game tickets as part of our annual Sens Tickets Fundraiser! Since each ticket is $35-$100, it adds up to a lot. So give yourself a pat on the back--- especially the middle schoolers, who passionately rope in most of the sales every year.

This fundraiser really is a fantastic idea, because everyone wins: $9-$35 from every ticket goes back to the school to help fund computers, sports equipment, activities, and more, fans get their tickets up to $30 cheaper, and a very generous variety of prizes are available to students for selling tickets. Some of the prizes included a free yearbook for selling 15 tickets, 2 tickets to a game for selling 30 tickets or even a Nintendo Switch for 75 tickets. Additionally, the class who generated the most sales overall won a night in the Sens Party suite with an all-you-can-eat buffet!

Tickets were commonly sold to family members and friends, but some students with strong school spirit marketed door-to-door in their neighbourhoods. There were 7 Ottawa Senators hockey games to choose from, which were available to our school before most of the public, so we had optimal options for games and seating. Cheques and cash were accepted, but School Cash Online was also offered, as it is for most school fees.

Mr. Gillis, who spearheads this iconic event this year, was very optimistic about the 2022 sales since “the Sens team this year is very promising!”, and many seem to agree. The Ottawa Senators won 5 out of the 8 games they played in the preseason, and things are looking good for their first game on October 13th, against the Buffalo Sabres.

Lots of gratitude is extended to both Mr. Gillis and Mr. Gareau for the highly entertaining announcements, as well as to everyone else who helped make this event possible. We’re so lucky to have our Sens Fundraiser back after two years. Hopefully, we’ll do even better next year.

Go, Sens, Go!
