Sacred’s Senior Boys OFSAA AAA West team had a great season, making it all the way to the playoffs. The team could be seen on the fields behind Sacred Heart for their weekly practices. During their regular season, they played six games, winning against St. Joseph High School and Longfields-Davidson Heights on the 4th and 11th of October.
Tied with St. Joseph High School for fourth in the west before the playoffs, the teams faced one another once again on October 31st at the soccer field directly behind Sacred. The Huskies won by one goal much to the excitement of their fans; they were fourth in the West! The next day they played against Nepean High School and, although they lost, they knew they played well this season.
“We win like a family and lose like a family,”
said centre-back, Owen Carr (Grade 12). Striker, Christian Lamb (Grade 10) said,
“the team had great spirit” and that the players were “like family.”
He also wanted to give a shout-out to Omar Darwish saying,
“he taught me the ins and outs of the game. Omar always brought the team together.”
Congrats to all the players for a great season and, as always, go Huskies!
