Sacred Heart’s girl’s volleyball team starts off their season strong
The new quad has kicked off with even more winter sports! Senior girls volleyball is just starting up with the team having their tryouts a couple of weeks ago. 35 girls in Grades 11 and 12 showed up to the tryouts and now, after two rounds of cuts, the team is ready to play! The team will be practicing in the mornings and after school to prepare for their seven-game season. The team is placed in the tier-one division so the girls will be giving it their all against some tough competition!
On Wednesday, November 24th the team travelled to Richmond, where they took on the South Carleton Storm in their first game of the year. The Huskies pulled off a 3-0 victory to secure a strong start to their season. Go Huskies!
In an interview with Mr. Dicresce, the head coach of the team, we were able to hear about his coaching drive. He says...
“It is always fun coaching young people who want to get better. I have not played volleyball in many years, but really enjoy the sport and am happy to give back to the school and this community.”
So Huskies, support our team by wishing them all the best when you see them around the halls!
