Huskies On Three!

Starting the new semester strong with the girls' and boys' rugby 15s teams opening up. Anyone from grade nine to twelve is welcome to join; no experience necessary. Rugby 15s involves eight forwards and seven backs on each team on the field. It is played on a points system involving tries, conversions, drop kicks, and penalties. Varying from football, the ball must always be passed backward in rugby. The first practice was held on March 7th at the Sensplex dome with a large turnout, but more members are encouraged to join, especially for the girls' rugby team. This year's amazing coaches are Ms. Moore, Mr. Doherty, and some community volunteers. The senior boy’s team is the 2022 NCSAA tier 1 silver medalist, along with being 2018 and 2019 City Champions. The next boys' rugby practices will be on March 21st and 28th at the Sensplex, and the next girls' rugby practice is to be determined.
