Huskies Badminton

The most recent of Sacred Heart’s sports events was the badminton tournaments. The juniors occurred on Monday, April 3rd at the Confederation Education Center in Nepean. With 210 total games, the day was chaotic yet energetic and fun. The singles, Chloe Rowsell and Liam Guillemette finished in third place in their respective divisions. Rowsell, who has been playing since the young age of seven, says she’s

“very proud of [Guillemette]” and that “he did very well”.

Girls doubles and mixed doubles both finished fifth and boys doubles finished seventh. Rowsell applauds the mixed doubles

“They did phenomenally. They persevered and didn’t give up.”

As for the seniors, the boy's singles and the boy's doubles secured a spot in third place. The girl's singles finished in fifth, girl’s doubles sixth and mixed doubles, unfortunately, did not place in the top five. The boy’s doubles, Hunter and Parker Evans, placed third and are advancing to the next tournament. We wish them all the luck for that on April 19! Everyone did very well, and the juniors benefited from learning from the seniors’ extra experience and the added challenge of practicing against them.
