The early weeks of November were full of basketball at Sacred Heart. With the senior girl’s season coming to an end, the junior girl’s playoff run beginning and the boy’s teams just getting started, it was a busy start to the month.
On November 3, the senior girl’s basketball season came to an end with a tight victory over Holy Trinity. With a final score of 61-57 for the Huskies, it was a close game from start to finish. Despite not making the playoffs, the senior team ended their season on a high note and hope to carry that success over to next season.
With a win over Longfields on November 1, the junior team secured a spot in the playoffs. They played Nepean Highschool on November 9, but unfortunately fell short of the undefeated force that was NHS. However, that does not discredit their impressive and accomplished season! Making the playoffs is a great achievement and the boys basketball surly hopes to follow their lead.
While the girl’s season was coming to an end, the boys were just getting started, tryouts for the senior and junior teams took place and teams were formed. With a multitude of interested students coming out for the senior and junior teams, Mr. Cameron and his fellow coaching staff had some tough decisions on their hands forming these teams. With their goals in mind for the season, the boys basketball teams will begin preparing in the next couple weeks, and we wish them all the best!
