How the Huskies are competing against other schools in the city
In a year where playing sports in person inst an option, Husky Sports have gone virtual! Sacred Heart -along with other schools in the city- is participation in E-Sports tournaments. The first game the team played was Smash Bros. The Huskies reprinted our school placing 4th as a team. However, we also had two students place in the top ten. Alexander Evans came in 5th and Arjun Dixit just behind in 7th out of more than 100 other students! Team capitan Arjun shares why he joined the team
"I’m really enjoying my time on the E-Sports Smash Bros team. Because of COVID-19, I couldn’t join any other team in school. This team gives us a chance to socialize and take a break from school"
The next event Sacred Heart will be participating in is Rocket League. Currently now the Huskies are still in their preseason and are gearing up for their 3 regular-season tournaments. E-Sports has quickly become one of the most popular sports, even at the collegiate level. Sacred Heart Sacred Heart is taking the interests of students and creating a way for student-athletes to compete in the newly created OCSBeSPL that has 15 teams and growing, from all over out school board (gr. 7-12). E-Sports games run every Thursday from 4:00-6:00 and are available to watch on the ocsbesports website. Stay tuned for results on Rocket League and the other events!
