Missing two periods and getting to see a basketball game? A lot of kids would pay money to do that — literally! The first buy-out of the year sold out fast and was a huge success.
Unfortunately, the game itself didn’t go our way. The Huskies lost to Holy Trinity, 55-59, but it was a very close game and they played hard. There was live commentating, fantastic performances by the cheerleading team, and even an appearance from everyone’s favourite husky, Howie.
All the revenue from tickets was donated to our Christmas charitable campaign, including donations to the Stittsville and Richmond Food Banks, which have seen an increase in demand and a big need for more donations.
Everyone there had loads of fun and, don’t worry, this won’t be the last buy-out. There are expected to be 3-5 more this year. Stay tuned, so you don’t miss out!
