Updated: Sep 19, 2021

What's happening in the Phys-Ed Department?

Sacred Heart's Physical Education Department offers a wide variety of courses, including fitness, outdoor-ed, sports leadership and kinesiology, along the standard phys-ed courses. These courses all offer fun new experiences, leaving students excited to come back the next day, or this year the day after. In the grade 9 phys-ed courses, the highlights include skating on the canal, boxing, jungle sport, and trips fo the CRC for skating. In the higher grade phys-ed courses, students love visiting outdoor rinks, the Bell Sensplex field house, and rock climbing. The fitness course has the opportunity fo participate in Greco, and of course training in the Dog Pound. All of these courses also have the opportunity to participate in the Paul Desmarais 5K run. The outdoor ed classes are having a blast this year. Some of their most interesting activities include dog sledding Quincey making, snowshoeing and cross country skiing, along with fire making and working on their canoe carrying skills. Unfortunately, many of the students' favourite activities available in {he past have been unavailable this year, but are hoped fo return in the years fo come. So, if you are looking for a fun course to stay active and spend time learning new skills, take look the Phys-Ed department!
